We are beginning to see and hear more and more from our community inch their way into the spotlight. Lachi at the Grammys, CODA at the Oscars, Peter Dinklage at everything, and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell doing his thing. Representation is happening and I know it puts a warm feeling in our hearts.
Who is dressing these stars? While they might be earning tall piles of bones to hire a professional tailor, where do the regular earners like us go to get their unique threads? The inclusion bug has bit the fashion industry hard and we’ve got a bad habit for replenishing our closet.

We’re crushing so hard on the fuscia Mio Halter one-piece from Miga Swimwear with its color block pattern on the back. The extra long straps can be worn four different ways – wrap your head around that – er…wrap that around you head? Either way you wrap it, you’ll be stylin’ and profilin’ at the pool this summer. You’ve gotta carry cash for the fresh fruit cart at the beach, right? That’s why we scoped out Mia Tui’s current line of bags. We LOVE the colored liners making it easier to see the small items in the bottom of your bag. Speaking of, everyone raves about Samantha, Samantha, Samantha with the big zipper pulls. But cane users know that you only have one free hand, say for a dog leash, a cup of coffee, sunglasses, and keys, while the other hand is steering the cane. Therefore, we opt for backpacks. Those darn backpacks – the never ending black hole that you dig and dig and dig through. You bend over to scoop poop and the back pack flops to one side. Lately I’ve been considering a crossbody bag. Not Big Role’s style, but it’s worth a try. After deciding to click on their bundle buys – yes, we went there – cut to the Lottie and Samantha bundle! Both for one price. The bundles are a great deal. While you’re getting aroused over the Samantha, cane users will be moaning over the backpack and Lottie bundle. With it still being Spring and cooler in some parts of the country, we decided our dogs needed a comfy shoe, also with coverage, like the Taupe Billy Perf Lows. Dressy enough, but also casual. Great for the green commuters, too! You could top it off with one of their trucker hats with the Billy Footwear logo. And while we’re giving trucker hats a comeback, there are some things from that era that can stay in that era.
Unless we’re going topless, we need to find a top to complete our wardrobe. For this, we’re cruising over to JCPenney. Hey, I heard that! But, they have adaptive clothing and we’re gonna check it out. Okay, you made a good point, it is still a store that your grandma would shop at, regardless of how old or young you are. However, there are some cute finds in the mix, and some deals to be made. Like this pink top by a.n.a. – women’s roundneck short sleeve top also comes in black, ranging from XS-5x. The puffy sleeves will add a bit of sass to those Seven7 jeans you’re rockin’.
